Description

The CI854A/TP854 connects PROFIBUS DP to AC 800M controllers. PROFIBUS DP slave devices, such as the remote I/Os S800 and S900, can be connected directly. PROFIBUS PA slave devices can be connected via the PROFIBUS linking device LD 800P.

PROFIBUS DP Interface Key Features

• Redundant Line Interface: PROFIBUS DP with two DB9 female connectors located on the TP854 Baseplate.
• Mounting: Simple DIN-rail mounting.
• Data Transfer: Supports both cyclic and acyclic DP communication, along with slave redundancy.
• Connection Capacity: Use of repeaters allows a maximum of 124 nodes to be connected on one PROFIBUS DP network; up to 32 nodes permitted per segment.
• Alpha Code Locking: Pre-set, two-letter alpha code locking device installed in unit base prevents mounting of incompatible components.
• Transmission Speed: Selectable between 9.6 kbit/s and 12 Mbit/s.
• Master Redundancy: Support of PROFIBUS DP master redundancy (CI854A only).
• Hot Swap Support: Supported by CI854A.

LED Indicators and Functions

• F(ault) / Red: Indicates a unit error, set during controller reset and managed by the control software post-reset.
• R(un) / Green: Signifies normal operation, reset by hardware during controller reset and managed by the control software post-reset.
• RxA / Yellow and RxB / Yellow: Indicates data reception on Line A and Line B. Each telegram received causes the LED to flash; appears static in normal operation.
• PRIM(ary) / Yellow (CI854A): This LED is on in both single and redundant configurations, indicating the primary CI854A in redundant setups.
• DUAL / Yellow (CI854A): On when CI854A is operating in a redundant configuration.
