K-LB-1.6G Surge Protection Barrier: Precision Defense for Low-Voltage Circuits
Shield sensitive 6V field devices from lightning strikes, switching spikes, and transient surges with Pepperl+Fuchs' single-channel DIN-rail barrier. Engineered for intrinsically safe (IS) and non-IS applications, it diverts surges up to 20kA to ground while clamping voltages to safe levels. SIL 3 certified for critical safety systems.

FAQs
Q: Can this barrier protect RS485 communication lines?
A: No – use model BXT ML2 BE S5 for RS485 (supports 1.6Mbit/s, 20kA surge)
Q: Is grounding mandatory for safety compliance?
A: Yes – equipotential grounding is critical for Ex-area certification (ATEX/IECEx)
Q: What is the lifetime after repeated surges?
A: Rated for 10+ surges at 10kA/line and 1 surge at 20kA total
Q: Does it work with 4-20mA signals at 24V?
A: No – use K-LB-1.30G for 24–30V applications
